Samsung stung by trade commission's patent ruling

The U.S. International Trade Commission has ruled that Samsung Electronics infringed on patents related to liquid-crystal display screens held by competitor Sharp, setting up the possibility that the world's largest maker of LCD displays could be barred from U.S. markets. According to iSuppli data, Samsung controlled 19.9% of the U.S. market for LCDs in the second quarter; Sharp had 5%.
