Feds are planning for a smaller carbon footprint for government

Energy-efficient weapons systems and biofuel-powered battleships are two of many new green initiatives being rolled out by the Pentagon and 55 other agencies of the government. The goal is to greatly reduce the federal carbon footprint over the next 10 years. "These actions will have an economic return for the American taxpayer," said Michelle Moore, who is helping lead the "greening of government" initiative for the White House Council on Environmental Quality.
