Corn-stover issues are discussed at Neb. seminar

Industry experts at a seminar in Omaha, Neb., shared insights on the use of corn stover in advanced biofuel production. The increasing corn yields over the years have boosted the amount of corn stover in the fields, which is both a challenge and an opportunity for farmers, said Steve Peterson, a marketing manager for Monsanto. A survey of 500 farmers found that about 80% of them are spending more time and resources to deal with the amount of corn stover in their fields.
