Smart mechanical systems boost "green" buildings in St. Louis

Designers have incorporated slanted ceilings and reflective shelves to bring light into windowless areas, reducing the need for artificial light. At the Nidus Center, energy-efficient features have spelled a projected 33% reduced costs and 33% energy savings. At Monsato Center, heat recovery coils and a smaller chiller have are expected to save as much as 40%.
