FCC adopts "plug-and-play" rules

The FCC yesterday approved so-called "plug and play" standards for digital TV sets that will enable consumers to receive digital signals without a set-top box. TVs outfitted with the new capabilities are expected to come out by the end of next year, a Yankee Group analyst said.
