What to do with underperformers

When you ignore a poor performer, you risk undermining your organization, leadership consultant John Baldoni says. He suggests you first talk to the employee to see if there's a personal issue at the root of the problem. Then, act as a coach and ask for solutions to the problem. If all else fails, work with HR and move that worker out the door.
