Ariz. city council and Wal-Mart compromise on liquor license

The Tucson, Ariz., City Council, which voted in March to oppose a liquor license for a Wal-Mart Stores location, has decided to offer no objection at the retailer's hearing with the Arizona State Liquor Board. Wal-Mart has agreed to close at 11 p.m. every day, refrain from selling guns and ammunition while it holds a liquor license and delay an application for a hard-liquor license for two years.
