Regulators scrutinize Facebook privacy changes

The Federal Trade Commission is looking into whether Facebook's proposed new privacy policy violates a two-year-old agreement under which the social network is required to obtain user consent before sharing data with new audiences. One of the new features at issue is facial-recognition technology that matches faces in photos with public profiles.
