Shell's proposed cracker on schedule, Pa. economic official says

Progress on Shell's proposed ethane cracker in Pennsylvania's Beaver County is moving along as planned, according to C. Alan Walker, secretary of the state Department of Community and Economic Development. The project could create 20,000 to 50,000 downstream manufacturing jobs, he said. "I think in 10 years there will be three crackers in Appalachia. What we are trying to prove is it makes more sense to put a cracker in the field and not take the gas to Gulf," he added.
