Study raises concerns about bacteria found in soap dispensers

Microbiologists at GOJO Industries, which created Purell, found that public soap dispensers can contaminate soap so much that skin may be dirtier after hand-washing. The company launched its No More Bulk Soap campaign to warn companies about bulk soap dispensers, as many samples from the study contained coliform and fecal bacteria. "I never dreamed there could be so many bacteria in soap," said Charles Gerba, microbiology professor at the University of Arizona.
