Group seeks funding for straw-based energy project in Oregon

A group of grass-seed growers in Oregon has completed a feasibility study and business plan for a proposed facility that would recycle post-harvest straw and other waste into energy products, including ethanol. The proponents are aiming to begin construction next year on the $25 million facility in Oregon's Willamette Valley once they have raised enough funds and qualified for state tax incentives.
