Price hardening is doubtful amid ample reinsurance capacity, executives say

The insurance industry is unlikely to experience hardening of prices in light of reinsurers' adequate capacity, executives said. The insurance and reinsurance sectors are "adrift and directionless" because of uncertainty in the global economy, dwindling reserve releases and potential inflation, said Guy Carpenter President Alex Moczarski. However, "we believe that growth opportunities exist -- or can be created -- by those with access to the right insight, tools and transactional capabilities," Moczarski added.
