Twitter seeks ad models as users, influence grow

As Twitter embarks on its plan to expand its number of "sponsored tweets" and seeks other ways to monetize content, the social network's CEO, Dick Costolo, is touting Twitter's near-broadcast ability to shape media discourse. Among other things, Twitter says it's mainly a mobile service now, with the immediacy that implies as 55% of its 100 million active users access the service through mobile devices.
