Are schools really abandoning the national meal program?

While recent reports of schools dropping out of the National School Lunch Program have made headlines, registered dietitian Suzanne Havala Hobbs writes in this commentary that schools are succeeding in implementing the new standards. In fact, the School Nutrition Association reported that only about 1% of respondents to a recent survey indicated plans to drop out of the program.
