Cisco Systems is touting the nPower line of network processors, which it says are capable of transmitting data at 400 gigabits per second. The X1 model has 336 processor cores and 4 billion transistors, the company says. These advanced processors are meant to deal with "event-driven" network traffic, Cisco's Surya Panditi said.
