RDs: Put diet focus on eating healthy fats in moderation

Instead of just reducing consumption of fatty foods, registered dietitians recommend that dieters focus on eating healthier unsaturated fats that may help protect the heart, increase nutrient absorption and promote satiety. RD Carol Plotkin says she shows clients the Mediterranean Diet Pyramid, which encourages healthy fats such as olive oil, nuts and fatty fish.
