Report: Solar panel projects rise 15% in Q2 because of utilities

Installation of photovoltaic solar panels reached 832 megawatts in the second quarter, up 15% from the previous quarter, according to a report from GTM Research and the Solar Energy Industries Association. Demand for utility-scale solar projects climbed 42%, which helped compensate for lackluster demand in residential and commercial solar markets. The solar panel market grew 1.5% year over year, the report stated.
