Can Windows PC apps run on ARM tablets? AMD says maybe

There is some controversy over whether Windows applications written for x86-based PCs would be able to run on ARM-based tablet computers with Windows 8. Gabe Gravning, senior manager for client software marketing at Advanced Micro Devices, tells The Register that existing Windows applications would have to be recompiled to run on ARM-based processors.
