Nursing school obtains grant to expand care for homeless families

The University of California, Los Angeles, School of Nursing will use a grant from the Ahmanson Foundation to expand pediatric services at the Union Rescue Mission homeless shelter and Hope Gardens transitional housing. The grant will support "after-hours care, parenting instruction and rapid assessments of the increasing number of homeless families," said Courtney Lyder, dean of the nursing school.
