CFTC officials say SEF rules might be delayed

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission might need to give companies that are establishing swap-execution facilities more time to comply with rules that are due to come into effect Oct. 2. The CFTC has approved two SEF applications. "Based on what we expect of the industry and the short time frame ... we have to delay the Oct. 2 date," said CFTC member Scott O'Malia.
