More efficient batteries still years away

MTI Micro Fuel Cells and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. are two of the companies working to develop fuel cells as alternative energy sources for portable CE devices. Fuel cells -- which use an external supply of fuel instead of an internal supply like batteries -- could still be up to 10 years away, but may one day replace conventional batteries, according to one researcher.
