Amtrak could get new $1.1B NYC station

Amtrak, the federal government and New York state and city officials have reached an agreement for proceeding with a plan to transform Manhattan's Farley Post Office into a grand train station. It is unclear how the $1.1 billion project will be funded, but officials say money from the stimulus package will help defray costs. They note that construction could start next year.
