Banks fear capital rules tougher than Basel III:

Now that the Basel III international rules have been set, bankers worry their national regulators, particularly in the U.S., U.K. and Switzerland, will take a harder line on capital requirements than global standards, this article reports. Swiss and U.K. regulators have traditionally been tougher on banks than their counterparts in other countries and many expect the U.S. to follow suit under pressure from Congress.
