Children's physical activity decreases over time, study finds

A British study found that the level of physical activity in children ages 9 to 10 declined by 4.6% over the course of a year and the decrease was more pronounced among girls, children from wealthier families and those with more body fat. "With levels of obesity in children rising, it is vital that we support children to incorporate regular physical activity into their day-to-day lives," the senior cardiac nurse for the British Heart Foundation said.
