Tribe, California city work together for a proposed casino

The Manzanita Tribe is moving forward with plans to build a casino resort in Calexico, Calif. The tribe is working with the city on a proposal for a 400-room resort hotel and convention center, in addition to 93,880 square feet of casino gaming. The off-reservation casino would be built on about 232 acres of land, pending approval by the federal government.
