Court issues a permanent injunction against defendants in La. insurance-fraud-ring case

A Louisiana district court granted a permanent injunction against a number of defendants in an insurance-fraud case, preventing them from offering insurance in the state. They also were ordered to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in restitution, fines and penalties. One of the defendants was found guilty in 2008 of 41 counts of fraud in connection with the sale of fake construction bonds and later was given a 20-year prison sentence.
