ALDI keeps prices low by avoiding credit cards

ALDI, which has 1,000 stores in the U.S., accepts cash and debit cards. Only at its 49 locations in Oklahoma does the grocer accept one credit card, Discover, and customers must pay a 25-cent charge per transaction when they use it. Not taking credit cards, and avoiding interchange fees, is key to the retailer's ability to keep prices down, the company said.
