India strikes uranium deal with Mongolia

India has signed a memorandum of understanding with Mongolia for the "peaceful use of radioactive minerals and nuclear energy." The deal calls for India to assist Mongolia, which is said to have 6% of the world's uranium supplies, in developing its mining sector. The agreement could help India meet a shortfall in uranium reserves, experts said.
