Transportation investment should be a part of any long-term strategy, said one expert. High-speed rail is rightfully part of the multimodal mix, said another. "The best way to get our economy moving again is to tackle one of the biggest problems facing our country: our crumbling roads, bridges, railways, runways and other basic infrastructure," said Terry O'Sullivan, general president of Laborers' International Union of North America.
