Bill seeking $7B in additional FEMA disaster funding clears Senate

The Senate on Thursday voted in favor of legislation that would provide $7 billion to shore up the Federal Emergency Management Agency's disaster-relief fund. The bill includes emergency funding worth $500 million to enable the agency to continue assisting families affected by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee until the end of September.
