R.I. group to map areas for land-based renewable-energy projects

The Rhode Island Renewable Energy Siting Partnership met to begin mapping out the suitable sites for onshore wind, solar and hydro facilities in the state. The group aims to develop an online database and mapping tool that would help officials and developers make decisions on renewable-energy projects in the state. The partnership hopes to finish the project by March 31.
