Why "leadership training" is a lousy idea

Companies should abandon leadership-training programs in favor of development, writes Mike Myatt. Training presumes that fixed methods and approaches are the only correct ones, Myatt notes, while development lets leaders explore and sharpen new and better ways of doing business. "Don't train leaders," Myatt writes. "Coach them, mentor them, disciple them, and develop them, but please don't attempt to train them."
