The best way young job-seekers can find work is by making contacts and building relationships, says Ryan Allis, CEO of iContact. He suggests using social media not just to "friend" a possible mentor but to make initial contact and ask advice. "Students should be spending at least 20% of their time in college building relationships ... I'd rather hire someone with a 3.5 GPA that I know well than someone with a 3.8 I've never met," he said.
