Telehealth bill would boost patient access to care

Reps. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., and Frank Pallone, D-N.J., proposed the TELEmedicine for MEDicare Act last week that would update licensure laws to allow Medicare doctors to use telemedicine to assist patients in other states without having to be licensed in those states. The proposal has received support from various organizations such as the American Telemedicine Association and the Health IT Now Coalition.
