Generator sales spike after Hurricane Ike

Kohler Power Systems and Briggs & Stratton Corp. have seen a spike in generator sales as Texans are still without power after Hurricane Ike -- and some may remain so for a month. Briggs & Stratton has scheduled around-the-clock shifts at its Wisconsin plant to meet demand. "We have cranked up production in our plants to get as many generators as we can to the people who need them," said Todd Teske, Briggs' president and chief operating officer.
