Newer LVAD has high readmission rates, study says

Newer continuous-flow left ventricular assist devices were linked to unacceptably high hospital readmission rates, which could limit their use in advanced heart failure care, researchers said. Study data showed cumulative incidences of hospital readmission were 34.6% at three months, 60.6% at six months and 84.6% at one year.
