U.K. plastic surgeon transplants a man's big toe to replace his thumb

Plastic surgeon Umraz Khan led a team at Frenchay Hospital, Bristol, U.K., that replaced a 29-year-old man's severed thumb with his big toe. "Mr. Khan said to me, 'You will have a thumb even if I have to take your toe'," the patient said. "I thought he was joking, but he was serious and nine months later here it is."
