3D minimal left atrial volume index more accurately predicts major adverse cardiac events for patients with cardiac disease than 3D maximal left atrial volume index, according to a study published in JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging. These findings reflect other research that has shown chronic left ventricle diastolic pressure/volume overload is best identified by 3D LAVImin, the authors note.
