Expert stresses nuclear technologists' role in facility accreditation

It is important for nuclear medicine technologists to adhere to established guidelines to come up with high quality studies as more insurers begin to require health care providers to obtain accreditation as a condition for reimbursements, according to Timothy L. Dunn, technical director of nuclear cardiology at Maine Cardiology Associates. "We will all need to be accredited in the very near future in order to continue to provide patient services," Dunn said.
