NBCT advises new high-school teachers on students

For those new to teaching high-school students, a National Board Certified Teacher offers this advice: Be passionate about the subject, and decide what type of relationship you want to develop with students. Kenneth J. Bernstein writes that if high-school teachers want students to respect them, they must first respect their students. And he warns that students will try to find information about their teachers on Google and social-networking Web sites such as Facebook.
