Recruitment survey finds biggest demand is for family physicians

Data from the annual Merritt Hawkins recruitment survey showed the biggest demand among medical specialties was for family physicians, followed by internal medicine physicians. The need for family physicians is partly driven by hospital system expansion and the need for patients of new facilities to connect with primary care clinicians. The report also found salary offers for family physicians increased 7% from 2009 to 2013.
