HBV-induced nodules may lead to liver cancer if viral loads are high

Data presented at the International Liver Cancer Association Annual Conference revealed patients with hepatitis B-induced dysplastic nodules and high viral loads were at an increased risk of developing hepatocellular carcinoma. Researchers said the findings suggest that "maintenance of an inactive carrier state might be essential to reduce the risk of progression into HCC in HBV-associated DNs."
