It may be time to stop talking about "social media"

Social media marketers are being held back by the term "social media," argues Crowdtap CEO Brandon Evans. Social media isn't actually "media" -- it's just a form of communication, and as such should be integrated into broad-spectrum marketing efforts rather than being segregated as a Web-only media platform. "Social amplification and engagement are (or at least should be) a part of nearly all messaging," Evans writes.
