Mobile app helps patients understand cancer treatment options

Henry Ford Hospital's Center for Cancer Surgery has unveiled a free smartphone application for Android and Apple devices to enhance patients' knowledge of different cancer treatment options. The Cancer Surgery Mobile App also allows users to schedule appointments, find appointment locations and access their medical records. The app's clinical trials function is expected to boost the number of participants in the Detroit hospital's clinical trials, said center director Dr. Steven Kalkanis.
