Operators, investors spar over China hotel expectations

As the hotel industry in China continues to experience growth, operators and investors still have different views on hotel business risks and advantages. Investors say that hotel operators don't try to glean the most from short-term cash flow or long-term site value, while operators say they provide value and investors reap the financial returns. According to the South China Morning Post, that mix "is further complicated by the even greater distortion in value perceptions held by many local governments in China."
