Startup designs wearable baby monitor

Sproutling, a startup that recently raised $2.6 million from several investors, has designed a wearable baby monitor to give parents important information on their baby's health and surroundings. In addition to monitoring the baby's breathing, the device tracks important data such as heart rate, room temperature and ambient light level, which parents can use to get their children to sleep better. The platform involves a Bluetooth-enabled device, a base station, a small camera and a companion application that sends alerts to a mobile phone in case the baby is in distress.
