T.J. Maxx gives off-price online retail a 2nd try

Off-price fashion retailer T.J. Maxx quietly launched an online store this week, eight years after ending its first foray into e-commerce. The retailer's original e-commerce site was shut down within a year due to customers' lackluster response, but experts acquired through TJX's purchase of online retailer Sierra Trading Post last year helped develop the new site to accommodate the unusual nature of T.J. Maxx's business that includes products from more than 16,000 vendors.
