MWSU celebrates 40 years of nursing education

Missouri Western State University is celebrating 40 years of nursing education. Department chairwoman and registered nurse Kathleen O'Connor says today's RNs are expected to know and function at a higher level and have a bachelor's rather than an associate's degree. O'Connor says more men are becoming nurses and people are choosing nursing as a second career, as the profession is facing shortages and offers an attractive starting salary.
