Premier's McInnes scrutinises Australian retail rents

Mark McInnes, head of Premier Investments, said that shopping mall landlords are gouging their retail tenants amid declining retail sales and consumer traffic. "It's not in our shareholders' interest to run a loss-making store where the only person making profit out of our sales is the landlord," McInnes said. Premier, which owns Dotti, Just Jeans and other brands, posted a 50% plunge in full-year profit.
