BIO responds to article questioning safety of biotech foods

Biotech crops go through a long and stringent regulatory process before they enter the market, and they pose no human or environmental health risks, writes Karen Batra, BIO's director for food and agricultural communications, about claims made in a Sept. 2 article in The Ledger. Scientific groups and the World Health Organization have released hundreds of studies backing the safety of biotech products, Batra writes.
